It’s been awhile friends. I won’t bother making the classic joke that I haven’t seen you since last year, but I’m still going to make sure you know I at least thought of it ;).
In 2016, I changed my idea of a new year resolution and chose a single word as my mantra for the year. My word was “self love”. That was a wonderful year for me, and I’m so thankful I found that word and figured out what self love means to me.
Truthfully I cannot remember what I did for 2017. I do not even recall if I chose a word or just a resolution. At that time I know we were working at running 100 miles at our rec center, and I wanted to stop picking at my nails. I only achieved that first goal, as my nails are currently oh so damaged. Stopping my bad habit with my fingernails is always something I am working at but it is the biggest challenge for me because I do it subconsciously.
Anyway for 2018… I am SO excited for this year.
First of all, I am getting married to my handsome, sweet Drew on October 13, 2018. It has been really fun planning this wedding and I am so excited for this special day.
Second, I am chasing some big dreams and working on me and pushing boundaries. I am going to call myself something I never thought I would be able to call myself: an entrepreneur. I am working my full time job and working on two creative side hustles right now that I am so passionate about.
So what am I doing for my new year resolutions? I chose a word and I also am making a vision board. Drumroll please for my word…
I am going to be STRONG. I am talking mind, body, spirit. I want to be strong mentally- brave, confident, focused. Strong in m
y own physical body- I want to fuel my body with the nutrition it needs and push it past its limits, past the couch I let it lounge on for too long instead of picking up the weights. I want to love my body. Spiritual strength to me will mean, choosing joy, “be”ing in the moment, saying yes to adventure and things that make my heart happy and working on me.
I plan to share my vision board on my Instagram once it is put together. If you are not following me, you are missing out on adorable kitty pics, quirky stories, yummy recipes and wellness inspiration. I’m @hermadhope on Instagram too.
What did you choose for a new year resolution? Did you do the classic resolution, a word, a bucket list or something else all together? I’m always excited and interested in other people’s goals, so let me know in the comments 🙂
